“My dear friend, adviser and sister Your absence hurts in a way words cannot explain. It is painful knowing that I can no longer call you, talk to you, see your smile, or hear your advice. There is an emptiness where your presence used to be, and no words can truly fill it. You may have left this world, but you will never leave the hearts of those who knew and loved you. I will carry your memory with me, the friendship we shared, the lessons you taught me, the advice you gave, and the beautiful person you were. Sometimes life feels unbearably unfair, especially when we lose someone who still had so much to give. But even through the tears, I am grateful that our paths crossed. I am grateful to have known you, to have called you my friend, my classmate, and my little sister. Forghab Mahiva, you will be deeply missed. Your voice may be silent, but your memories will continue to speak in our hearts. Your journey on earth has ended, but the impact you made on the lives of those around you will remain. Rest peacefully, my dear friend, my little sister, my classmate, and my adviser. 🕊️💔”

“Mahiva, your departure leaves behind a silence that words can hardly interpret. Some lives are remembered because of the positions they held or the things they possessed; yours will be remembered because of the goodness you carried within you. You had a soul that seemed naturally inclined toward others kind, industrious, compassionate, and generous to the point of keeping your heart open even when you had little to give. There was something profoundly beautiful about the way you made yourself available to people. In you, kindness was not merely a virtue you spoke about; it was a way of being. I remember our time with the refugee service, particularly that MHPSS session when, after completing your degree, you willingly offered to assist me. You did not have much experience in that field, yet you came with a heart ready to learn and serve. You gave those women your time, your presence, and your compassion. Perhaps, at the time, we saw it simply as helping with a session, but in the economy of God, acts of mercy are never insignificant. I believe those women may forever remember those two days not necessarily because of what was said, but because someone came, listened, cared, and treated their pain with dignity. That was Mahiva. You carried dreams of becoming a successful woman. You dreamed greatly, and you worked toward those dreams with determination. You were building, preparing, becoming. And perhaps the hardest question grief asks is this: Why would God allow you to leave just when you were beginning to reap what you had sown? We may not possess an answer that can satisfy the heart. Scripture itself teaches us that God’s providence is often a mystery to us: “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.” Yet our faith does not require us to pretend that death is easy to understand. Christianity gives us permission to weep while still hoping. Mahiva, you did not live long enough to see every dream fulfilled, but a life is not measured only by what it finishes. Some people plant seeds whose harvest they never personally see. You planted kindness, friendship, service, courage, and hope in the lives of others. Your story, therefore, does not end where your earthly journey ended. What you gave continues in those you touched. In that sense, your life remains a testimony: that a person can leave this world having made it a little gentler for others. We mourn you because you mattered. We remember you because your presence was a gift. And as Christians, we entrust you to the mercy of the God whose love is greater than our understanding and whose promise in Christ reaches beyond the grave. May the God who knows every hidden dream, every sacrifice, every act of kindness, and every tear receive you into His peace. Rest, Mahiva. Your dreams may have been interrupted, but the goodness you sowed was not wasted. May your life remind us that we are not promised tomorrow, but we are given today and what matters is what we choose to plant in the lives of others while we are here.”

“Saying goodbye to you is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. You were more than a best friend; you were my chosen family, my anchor in the storm, and the person who knew me better than anyone else😔. Your laugh could light up the darkest room. We shared countless moments of pure joy that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. You stood by me through thick and thin, never judging, always listening, and offering a shoulder to lean on. The kindness, warmth, and love you showed everyone around you will never fade. You made people feel seen and cared for😭 Your immeasurable love towards me was out of this world😭 how I wish we are traveling to Santa for a wedding and not a burial. Your Godson Simone will miss you so much Mahi❤️”

“TRIBUTE IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR BELOVED SISTER MAHIVA From the CYF Bastos Family It is with profound sorrow, heavy hearts, and humble submission to the will of God that we bid farewell to our beloved Sister Forghab Mahiva Mongmoh, fondly known to us as Mahi. Mahiva grew up within the church family, passing through Sunday School and Young People's Fellowship (YP) before joining the Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) Bastos, where she was admitted in 2019. From then on, she became more than just a member of the fellowship. She became a sister, a friend, a worshipper, a worker, and a source of joy to many. Mahiva was a fervent worshipper, a committed worker, ever-smiling and always ready to serve. Her quiet strength, humility and genuine love for people were evident in the way she related with others. Whether in worship, prayer, fellowship, rehearsals or the many activities of the fellowship, she gave herself wholeheartedly. In her, we saw the beauty of Christian love expressed through service and dedication. Her zeal for the things of God was contagious. She did not always need to be at the forefront to make an impact. Her presence, her willingness to help and her gentle spirit spoke for her. CYF Bastos has lost a sister, a friend, a pillar and a rare gem. As we prepared the proposed programme and budget for 2026, our thoughts were filled with plans for the year ahead. We thought far and wide about the things we would accomplish together, but in our deepest thoughts and wildest dreams, we never imagined that death would call one of our own home so soon. Your departure has taught us a lesson we cannot easily forget: to number our days, to live purposefully, and to faithfully fulfil the calling God has placed upon our lives, regardless of our age or how much time we think we have. We are reminded that tomorrow is never promised, and that while we make our plans, our lives ultimately remain in the hands of our Creator. Yet, even through our tears, we choose to give thanks. We thank Almighty God for the gift of your life and for the privilege of having walked and fellowshipped with you. We thank Him for every worship service, every rehearsal, every programme, every conversation, every laughter and every moment we shared as a fellowship family. It was brief, but it was beautiful. It was brief, but it was meaningful. And it was brief, but it was impactful. If tears could bring you back, we would have dried our eyes long ago. If our love could keep you here, you would still be among us. If we could see what tomorrow holds, perhaps we would have held our loved ones a little closer. But we are not able to fully understand all that God does or all that He has planned. We only know that our times are in His hands, and that at His right hand stands our Saviour, Jesus Christ, in whom we have hope beyond this life. We weep because we will miss you. We rejoice because we believe that you are resting in the presence of your Maker, where there is no pain, no sorrow and no suffering, but eternal peace and joy. Faithful soldier, your earthly race is over. Your service here is complete. Your battle has been fought, and your faith has been kept. We may no longer see you standing among us during our fellowship meetings. We may no longer hear your gentle voice in our songs or see your familiar smile among us. But your memory will remain woven into the story of CYF Bastos. You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts. Rest on, dear Sister Mahiva. Rest in the peace of Christ, until that glorious morning when we shall meet again at the feet of Jesus. **Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever a part of the CYF Bastos family.** May your gentle and faithful soul rest in perfect peace with the Lord. With love and deepest sympathy, The CYF Bastos Family”

“My dear Mahiva, boo, Cherie ❤️ It is with heavy fingers that I write of you in the past, it with with deep pain that I finally decide to write this, I for once thought this could be a dream, but truly you're gone. We have so many memories you have left us with, your kind, gentle, caring of loving nature. Your smiles, your encouragement and many others. I remember when my elder sister gave birth to a baby girl 4years ago on same date of birth like you, I called and informed you and told you she was to be named Mahiva after you, you came home and celebrated your Mbombo, you became a part of my family and they all loved you you made it a habit to celebrate her birthday each year in your little loving way. your namey and my family were deeply broken about the news of your exit . As human beings we fell out at some point I am particularly grateful for that night you called me out and we spoke about what kept us apart. I remember when you informed me of your job at MTN and gave me the procedure to follow and kept on following up to see that I dropped my documents, but due to other preoccupations, I didn't. You still informed me of every opportunity that came up. Mahi boo, I can go on and on 💔 😭😭 where do you take all these to? You have left me with so many questions bae, but as Christians we do believe that God has a reason for everything and and in everything we should give thanks, I greatly thank God for your life my sister. For to is Christ and to live is gain, I choose to grow above the pain and rejoice in the hope that you have gained. Rest well boo till we meet to part no more ❤️”

“Daughter Me, It's been difficult to pen these words down to say goodbye. In 2018, when you were about to be admitted into CYF Bastos, you came up to me and told me, " I have chosen you as my Godfather ". I asked Nursla why Mahiva decided to choose me but she was astonished as I was. From then, you became more than a Goddaughter to me. You were always there for me and family. My wife has ever kept memory of you as you accompanied us to Akum that faithful October 12th 2024 on the occasion of our traditional wedding. You worked as though you were blood. You were always of assistance to my family whenever we called. Your last acts was on the occasion of our your little sister's 1st Anniversary. Your beautifully crafted birthday frame for your little sister will always be her remembrance for you. You were indeed not born of my blood, but was fully born of my heart. Two weeks before your demise when your little sis " asked to know why you have been missing ", your words were, " I have been struggling but I hope to get better soon ". What suddenly happened? Why did you give up so soon? Why did you decide to leave with so many questions unanswered? Why did you choose to do Ma Agathe this way despite her toils for you? You passionately addressed me as " Father Me " The last time I heard those two words were on August 18th when I asked you to follow up the wedding guest list of Noella and Blaise after you had already designed and printed the invitations. With humility as always, you answered " Okay Father me " In those two words, " Father me ", you left a lifetime of honor to me. With such love to me , family and entourage, you have thought me that love doesn't need biology to be real. Love is born of the heart. I'll carry those two words, " Father me " for the rest of my life. Daughter me, you may be gone from our sight but you will never be gone from our hearts. You will live on in every prayer we whisper, in every tear we shed, in every memory we would hold dear. I will hold on to the song by Alfred Brumley; " Some glad morning when this life is o'er I'll fly away To a home on God's celestial shore I'll fly away I'll fly away, oh glory I'll fly away When I die, Hallelujah by and by I'll fly away. “In loving memory of a dear sister and cherished friend Forghab Mahiva whose life was a radiant reflection of God's grace, love, and unwavering faith. I can't believe I am writing a tribute about you on the occasion of your glorious rest in Christ. You walked among us with a gentle spirit and a heart deeply anchored in the love of Christ. Your presence was a constant source of encouragement, your smile a quiet comfort, and your faith an inspiration to everyone blessed to have share a path with you. Whether through a timely word of Scripture and monthly encouragement shared, a heartfelt prayer made, or your dedicated service in fellowship, you lived out the Gospel with authenticity and profound grace. Though our hearts ache with the deep sorrow of parting, we do not grieve as those without hope. We take immense comfort in knowing that your race on earth has been faithfully run, and you have now stepped into the eternal joy and peace of your Savior's arms. The legacy of your kindness, your serviceability, your unwavering devotion, and the love you so freely shared will forever remain etched in our memories. Rest peacefully in the presence of the Lord, daughter me. You are deeply missed, but your light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts until we meet again around His throne. Continue resting in the Lord till we meet again to part no more.”

“In Memory of our little sister Mahiva I am her brother-in-law. For a long time, I used to visit the family home in the OBILI neighborhood in Yaoundé, at her mother's place, but I had never seen her. One day, I ran into her at the house. I was struck by her radiance, by her natural beauty, by her youthful and innocent face that lit up everything around her. I asked her older sister, "Who is she?" She smiled and answered me: "She is the youngest, she studies in Bamenda, she came for the holidays." What marked me the most that day, and what I will never forget, is her respect. A young lady who, upon seeing me, served me water while bowing with deference before an elder. Nowadays, that is a rare and precious virtue. And she embodied it. Mahiva was a beautiful creature of God, a pure, respectful and luminous soul, gone far too soon, in the prime of her life. May the Lord welcome her into His home. You will remain in our hearts. Your brother-in-law,”

“I did not get to know you as closely as I might have wished, Mahii, but even with the little I knew of you, certain qualities stood unmistakably clear: you were ambitious, caring, loving, and, above all, God-fearing. I am grateful to God for the opportunity to have met you and to have witnessed, even for a short while, the way you blessed the lives of those around you. Your life, though perhaps shorter than we would have desired, was not outside the sovereign providence of God. Today, we grieve, but not without hope. We entrust you to the God whose purposes are perfect, whose judgments are righteous, and whose mercies never fail. Our comfort is not that we understand His ways, but that we know Him. And for those of us who remain, may this loss turn our hearts again to Christ—the only sure hope beyond the grave. For in Him, death is not the end, and the grave will not have the final word. We look forward to the day when Christ will return and His people will be raised imperishable. You fought the good fight. You finished the race. You kept the faith. May the Lord comfort all who mourn, sustain those who loved you, and teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Rest well, Mahiii 🙏🏽🕊️”

“My dear Smalie, Mahiva Writing this tribute is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. My heart is heavy knowing that you are no longer here with us. You were more than a friend; you were my Smalie, and I was your Biggie. Those names were more than just nicknames—they represented the special bond we shared, a bond filled with love, laughter, care, and genuine friendship. One thing I will never forget is how you were always thoughtful and caring. You were one of the very first people to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. That simple gesture meant so much to me because it showed how much you cared. I will also never forget the special messages you would send to encourage me at the beginning of each month. Your words always brought hope, motivation, and a smile to my face. You had a beautiful way of making people feel valued and remembered. Smalie, your kindness, generosity, and loving heart touched so many lives. You were a blessing to everyone who knew you. The memories we shared, the conversations we had, the laughter we enjoyed, and the love you showed will remain in my heart forever. It is painful to accept that I will no longer receive your messages or hear you call me "Biggie," but I find comfort in knowing that the memories we created can never be taken away. They will live with me forever. Thank you for being such a wonderful person, for your friendship, your encouragement, your love, and for always being there. You may be gone from this world, but you will never be gone from my heart. Rest peacefully, my dear Smalie. I will miss you more than words can express. I don't have the standing to question God, but you leaving us this early feels like an unfair calculation. No parent should ever have to bury their child, let alone their last child. You cannot fathom the difficult task you've left us with; having to say goodbye while we were never prepared to. And yet I am convinced, without a shadow of doubt, that you are in a better place now. You will forever remain engraved in our hearts. Your electric energy, your thrilling and pleasant spirit are the gifts you left behind as your remembrance. You were that smallie CYF gave me who will never bypass without greeting with your soft hug and cute smile, you were very respectful and serviceable and I'm glad I got to shower you some praises while you were still here, glad I said a prayer for you while you were sick. God answered his way so I wish you a peaceful rest smallie. Forever in my heart.”

“My ever smiling Mahi♥️, your smile was your signature. It was genuine, warm and constant a beautiful reflection of the kindness you held inside. It feels unfair that a life full of joy was taken away from us . But even in our grief we will always remember the joy you brought. Thank you for the love 🤍and the support you always gave Majo🤍. “Tangwah Blessing My "twin sister" in your mom's voice A sister CYF Bastos gave me. It is still so difficult for me to believe that you are no longer here. Since the 25th August 2026 my heart has been filled with sadness and disbelief. This particular wound you left in my heart will take long to heal. Your mother always called us “the twins.” And truly, we were like twins. Where one was, the other was never far away. We understood each other, supported each other, and shared a bond that words can hardly explain. Your departure has left a space in my heart that no one can fill. I wish I could hear your voice again. I thank God for giving me the privilege of knowing you, and sharing part of life's journey with you. I am grateful for every memory, every laugh, every prayer, every meal, every conversation, and every moment we had together. Rest peacefully, my dear friend. Rest peacefully, my sister. Until we meet again, you will forever be remembered May your beautiful soul rest in the bosom of the Lord. Amen.”

You always smiled even in life challenging situations. I won't say I was very close to you, but we were close and always cracked joke. I was broken by the news but I bless God I was there to usher you and pray for your soul that faithful painful day......... Heaven has welcomed an angel Journey with the Lord grand soeur”

“IN LOVING MEMORY OF Forghab Mahiva, BAE, Mahi... Bae, Mahi, kiddy. That is how I used to call you, and today, those names bring both tears and beautiful memories. I see you all around me, and I choose to believe that you are smiling at me from above. You should have stayed a little longer, Mahi, but God, in His infinite wisdom, called you into His mighty arms. Though my heart struggles to understand why you had to leave so soon, I am comforted by the life you lived, the love you gave, the legacy you left, and most especially, *the faith you had in Christ Jesus.* YOUR LOVE FOR CHRIST Bae, your relationship with God was not just something you spoke about; *it was a life you lived.* When you started at *MTC Cameroon as an intern in January 2026*, you received your bonuses and gave *10% to the church*. I remember asking myself, “How can she give this when what she has can barely cover her transport to work?” But I came to understand that your giving was an expression of your faith. You trusted God, even when you had little. Your watchword was Joshua 1:8 “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night…” And you truly lived by that Word. Every day, you shared devotional Scriptures on your status, and we will miss those messages greatly. They were little reminders of your faith that reached everyone who saw them. I also remember seeing you pray so intensely on 20th August 2026, and that moment strengthened my own commitment to God. Even in your final hours, you believed and trusted Him. My baby, you have left us a testimony of faith. THE CHILD WE ALL LOVED As the last-born, you captured everyone’s heart from a very young age. But you never kept that love for yourself. Even when you had very little, the little you had knew no bounds. You reached out to people, cared for them, and gave whatever you could. Grandma also reminded us of your courage, how you protected her when a taxi driver tried to take you both to another destination, and the countless times you traveled to Bamenda despite the insecurity. You were young, but you were brave, determined, and protective. THE LOVE YOU GAVE Bae, you had a heart bigger than your circumstances. On my birthday, 19th August 2026, just a few days before you left us, you composed a beautiful song for me. That song still echoes in my ears. You bought me a gorgeous bag and a bouquet of money, and I wondered, “What are you earning to get me all these?” But that was simply you. You expressed love by giving. You touched people through your integrity, loyalty, compassion, collaboration, generosity, and love. THE EMPTY HOUSE And now, Mahi, I look around the house, and everything feels different. You have left the house empty. There is nobody to help me with the house chores anymore. No more rushing to bathe first just to get to work early. The neighbours will miss seeing you cleaning the stairs. There will be no more shouting and celebrating when Cameroon women (AFCON) win again. The children will miss playing and dancing with you to their favorite songs. Your Godchildren will miss your advice, your guidance, and the way you cared for them. Mom, Dad, and the rest of us will miss you at home too. And me? I will miss calling you “Mahi” and “Bae.” I will miss your voice, your laughter, your little jokes, your kindness, your serviceability, and all the ordinary things that have suddenly become precious memories. There are so many more things we will miss about you. MY FINAL WORD TO YOU A lot is there to be said, Bae, but words will never be enough. I wish you could have stayed a little longer. But I believe you have finished the assignment God gave you. As Scripture says: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 So, rest well, Mahi. You have fought your fight. You have finished your race. You have kept your faith. Live on in the presence of your Master God until we meet again. I love you. I miss you. And I will never forget you. “Some people leave this world quietly, but the love they gave, the lives they touched, and the light they carried continue to speak long after they are gone.” And that is you, my Bae. You may have left our sight, but you will never leave our hearts.”

“Mahi, I miss you more than words can say. 💔🕊️ Every beginning of the month, you would send me a Bible verse. Sometimes it would be at the beginning of a new week or a new year, always with a word of encouragement and a reminder of God’s love. You always checked on me, made sure I was okay, and never forgot to send me birthday wishes. Those little gestures meant so much to me, and now I realize just how precious they were. I never imagined that one day I would be waiting for a message from you that would never come. 😢 I miss your messages. I miss your thoughtfulness. I miss the way you cared. I miss you. Thank you for every prayer, every Bible verse, every birthday wish, every “how are you?” and every beautiful memory. ❤️ Your messages may have stopped, but the words you left in my heart will remain forever. Rest peacefully, my dear friend. Until we meet again. 🕊️❤️🙏🏽”
